• 2 cups of liquid
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 2 tablespoons cacao powder
  • 3 tablespoons hempseeds
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 2-3 tablespoons coconut manna
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • handful mint leaves

‘ Tis the Season to be a Sugar Addict!  Yikes, everywhere I turn, dessert is lurking and I am a sweets lover!  It takes all of my will power sometimes to make good choices.  However, I have a solution to satisfying those cravings!!!  It includes real chocolate and real peppermint!!

I hear myself as if I am talking to my 8 year old, “do I want this cookie or when I get home do I want my Chocolate Peppermint Smoothie?”  Usually I make good choices, but I am (so very much) human and will give in to pure pressure, or as I like to say, the “unconscious eating” made me do it.

Don’t feel guilty, just pick yourself up by your sweet tooth and make a conscious effort to make better choices next time.  Trust me, if I can do it you can too.


Chocolate Peppermint Smoothie

Mint leaves have several phytonutrients and healing properties that add so much to this delicious smoothie. Of course the cacao, hemp and chia seeds makes this a super food drink too!


2 cups of liquid (water works but coconut or other milks are best)
1 frozen banana
2 tablespoons cacao powder (learn more)
3 tablespoons hempseeds (learn more)
1 tablespoon chia seeds (learn more)
2 tablespoons of chocolate chips or favorite chocolate bar
2-3 tablespoons coconut manna  (learn more)
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
handful mint leaves (20 small leaves)
candy canes (no artificial colors or flavors brand



1.  In Vitamix pour liquid, add banana, cacao, hemp, chia and blend. Rinse mint leaves.
2. Add mint, coconut manna, peppermint extract  into Vitamix and blend till creamy.
