Maple Walnut Smoothie {dairy, raw & gluten free}

  • 2½ cups cold water
  • 1 large frozen banana
  • ½ cup raw walnuts
  • 3 tbsp hempseeds
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1 tsp maple extract
  • 1-2 tsp real maple syrup {optional}
  1. In a strong blender or Vita mix blend all ingredients till creamy.
  2. Add extra chunk of banana if you want a thicker smoothie.
Walnuts tend to be bitter unless you soak them over night. You can use almonds, cashews or any other nut. This recipe has over 20 grams of whole food protein so adding powdered protein is not necessary. I always have a bag of peeled frozen bananas in my freezer for that unexpected smoothie time. Please use organic when you can.
