Thank you Meghan Trainor for “All About that Bass” Lyrics!
Because you know I’m all about that dressing
’bout the dressing, no bottled
I am all ’bout the dressing ’bout the dressing, ’bout the dressing, no faaake!
Yeah, It’s pretty clear, I ain’t going to shake it, shake it
Because you know I can’t read that label like I’m supposed to do
‘Cause I got that boom boom that all the bellies chase
I got all the right yum in all the right places
I see the food industry working that tricky stuff
We know that crap ain’t real
Come on now, make it stop….

Such a catchy tune, I had to have a little fun {yum} with it! I have said it before and I will say it again, “seriously, who can read the labels of those store bought dressings anyway?!” It is so simple to make your own fresh and delicious dressing; all that you have to do is pull out your blender and JUST DO IT!
I promise you will be so happy you did! I know you have been watching me from a distance but please, enough already, just throw the ingredients in and get that boom boom going because we are bringing fresh back! Not to mention, it is secretly healthy for you but you already knew that {wink wink}!

Creamy Chive & Garlic Dressing {paleo, refined sugar & dairy free}
- 1 cup avocado or olive oil
- ¼ cup soaked cashews
- handful of baby chives
- 1 tsp Himalayan pink sea salt
- 2 lemons juice
- 1 tsp onion flakes
- ¼ tsp garlic powder or
- 2 steamed garlic cloves
- In ¼ cup water steam the garlic until it is soft.
- In a strong blender cream the oil, lemon juice and soaked cashews.
- Add all the other ingredients and blend until it is creamy.
- Taste and add extra salt if needed to your liking.
I steam the garlic because it makes it easier to digest. If you would like a thinner dressing you can add a few tablespoons of the water you steamed the garlic in. This dressing is also a great dip for baked chips or sliced vegetables. Drizzle it on fish or in your chicken salad instead of store bought mayo. The dressing will stay fresh up to a week in the refrigerator. Please use organic where you can.

How long should the cashews be soaked?
Hi Diane, Since cashews are a softer nut they don’t need as much time to soak and soften. If time is of the essence at the very least an hour will be ok. However, I find that overnight or at least 4 hours is best. I hope this helps you.
Is there a substitute for the cashews?
Thank you.
Hi June, yes you can substitute the cashews for soaked macadamia nuts, pecans or even avocado! My daughter had a sensitivity to cashews so she took a break from them and I used all three of those options and we loved them each! I have also omitted soaked nuts and added handful fresh basil and it was thinner texture not creamy but still delicious! Just be mindful of adding too much salt with less ingredients. Enjoy putting your own spin on it!
